Hello and thank you for visiting my website. My interest in this particular Regiment began through my grandfather who served with it from July 1914 up to August 1916 when it was disbanded. He never spoke a lot about his service but I have through the kindness of many people found out a lot, not only about his war but also those of his colleagues. I hope I have managed to convey something about the Regiment to you.
I would like to thank the following people especially for all their help and kindness during my research, which is still ongoing.
Dave Richardson
Gil Jones

Bruce Kilshaw
Margaret Harries (Aunty Margaret)

Major Martin Everett (Curator RRW Museum)

Chris Baker and the many cyber friends on his sites forum. An absolutely invaluable source of information for anything WW1 related.
To all the relatives who have sent me pictures, letters, postcards and diaries.
Dr John Dixon ~ Author of "With Rifle and Pick" "Surrender be Damned" & "Out since 14" which are histories about the 3 battalions of the Monmouthshire Regiment. And a book which covers the action of the 2nd Ypres in which all three battalions of the Monmouthshire Regiment took part entitled "Magnificent But Not War"
My grateful thanks to you all.
